PPG2 certified instruction in the Washington Coast. 2.5 hours southwest of Seattle on the Pacific coast.
Ocean Shores is one of the most naturally suited paramotor training environments in the Pacific Northwest. Wide, hard-packed low-tide beaches serve as natural runways, the airspace is uncontrolled Class G, and the open Pacific horizon gives student pilots an unobstructed visual reference that no inland site can match. It is a genuinely different kind of training from valley and farmland sites - and for many students, the most memorable week of their flying life.
Seattle Paramotor runs seasonal training cohorts at Ocean Shores for both the PPG Pilot Training course and the Adventure Training course. The flat beach terrain is forgiving for new pilots learning launches and landings, while the consistent onshore marine winds and afternoon coastal thermals make it an excellent proving ground for advanced students building crosswind and active-air skills.
Cohorts are scheduled seasonally from late spring through early fall when coastal conditions are most reliable. If you are based on the Olympic Peninsula, the Washington coast, or anywhere in Grays Harbor or Pacific County, Ocean Shores training removes the need to travel to the Seattle metro area entirely.
We select training sites based on wind exposure, terrain, airspace, and weather windows. Exact locations are shared with enrolled students.
