USPPA PPG2 certified instruction in the South Sound & Capitol Region. 60 minutes south of Tacoma, at the southern tip of Puget Sound.
Thurston County and the greater Olympia area mark the southern edge of our South Sound training corridor. Students based in Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater, and Thurston County can access training sites within a 20 to 40 minute drive, avoiding the longer commute to Seattle or Tacoma training locations.
The Olympia region offers a mix of open prairie terrain, river valley flats, and coastal-adjacent land along the southern Puget Sound that creates reliable morning flying conditions from spring through fall. It's also one of the least-crowded parts of our training territory - class sizes stay small and site availability is generally excellent.
We schedule Olympia-corridor cohorts on a seasonal basis. If you're in Thurston or Lewis County and looking for paramotor training without driving to the Seattle metro, contact us about the next available South Sound session.
We select training sites based on wind exposure, terrain, airspace, and weather windows. Exact locations are shared with enrolled students.
Thurston County prairie - Open high-plateau terrain south and east of Olympia with excellent visibility and consistent morning calm
Chehalis River valley (Lewis County edge) - Broad flat valley floor with minimal obstructions, used for intermediate students
Black Lake / Littlerock area - Open farmland southwest of Olympia with reliable light morning winds and flat launch terrain
Yelm / Roy prairie - Wide open agricultural terrain east of Olympia, near the Joint Base Lewis-McChord edge. Sites carefully selected for airspace clearance.
